First trip away since the diagnosis
I have always been one for new adventures. My plan had been to go away in July 2017, dad was diagnosed in June, instantly the wish to go away disappeared and I didn't give it another thought for months. Nick and I decided in September we needed a little get away. I had been with Nick about 3 weeks before we got told about the Cancer, so he was pretty much shoved into the craziness straight away. Hey ho, probably a good thing now, as Iceland was so expensive! December we headed on our 6am flight from Luton airpot - Reykjavik. We had a car lined up, and hotels paid for. our 5 days Icelandic Adventure was off to a good start. We Landed, picked up our car and headed to the Blue lagoon. The best way to get around in Iceland is 4x4! The weather was so unpredictable, and once you left the main city, the roads were so open, and towns so minimal.
We heard Iceland is expensive but I didn't realise just how much! A basic lunch at the Blue lagoon cost around £40, so we decided, flask hot choc and pizza was the way to go for 5 days!
The hotel however were quite reasonable in price! we stayed in the main town in Reykjavik! the craziest thing is how dark it got! there is light for 5 hours, so we tried to cram all we could into them.
we tucked up for the night.
